When something is wrong with her children, she gets extremely worried and can't help but imagine the worst case scenario at first, though she later grows more positive.

Her mood changes from time to time. One day she can be extremely depressed and the next day she can be very cheerful.

While he doesn't seem to take much seriously, he does see his responsibilities in the family as an important duty of his. He tries to help his mother and Raina in every way he can.

When something terrible happens, Ryan has problems with controlling his anger. He tries to hide it, sometimes he succeeds, but sometimes you better stay away from him.

He started to focus more on making short films and documentaries and decided to delve into ghost hunting when he started watching the series Ghost Adventures. His fascination with ghosts sort of started to control his life. He would go through a lot just to get some evidence on ghosts. He spends most of his time on the internet, watching ghost videos and scouting locations of ghost sightings. This has been hampering his sleeping pattern for quite a while now..

It has little angel wings which her mother says represents guidance and protection. Her mom wants to show she will always watch over her children even if she can't show it all the time.

Family: Brother Ryan, Mother Cathy

Friends: The only person who she calls a friend is Lisa. She can get along with other people, but they are not worthy of being called a friend in her eyes. After her father's death, Lisa was the only one who was consistently making attempts to comfort Raina. Other people kept their distance as they didn't know how to handle the situation.

Personality: Raina is a girl who appears strong after what she has gone through, but often bares her emotions as well. After her father passed away, she lost some of her penchant for adventure and now prefers a stable, peaceful existence. When there is an opportunity to do something wild and daring, she holds back, but she is easily persuaded, and her brother knows exactly how to do that by talking about their past. When he speaks about their memories, he knows Raina secretly longs to have another adventure together with him.

She is quite patient even when someone tests her patience, which is something she's learnt while dealing with her father's death.

She is a caring person who puts herself aside and thinks of others first.

Hobbies: Writing stories, drawing, painting, photography, filming. When she was twelve she was fascinated by books because literature always inspired her to utilize the full extent of her imagination. They tried to cheer her up by taking her out to a movie or dinner or even on vacation, but Raina just couldn't accept her father's death and thought she didn't have the right to be happy. When she got better, she started to take care of her mother who grew ill from all the stress and grief. She wouldn't get out of bed as she was tired and overemotional and these afflictions would cause her to suffer from debilitating headaches. Now her mother is doing a little better, but she still has the tendency to be a bit overbearing with her maternal instincts.

While going through the tragedy, Raina built a stronger bond with her brother Ryan.

Jealousy rate: 3 – Raina doesn't care much about what other people have. She only envies some people who still have a father. She wishes she could still have that.

Patience: 8 – Raina learnt to be patient when she was going through therapy. She had to learn that her troubles cannot be alleviated immediately and that people just need time to deal with certain emotions and problems. Raina was a bit hasty in that when she was going through therapy, she expected to be her old self soon again after a few sessions.

But by setting up goals for herself and talking about her accomplishments with the therapist, Raina noticed that she was slowly doing better and that a lot of things simply need time.

Panic rate: 7 – She panics quickly when she doesn't know what to do.

Anger rate: 5 – Raina can get angry whenever people don't understand how she is feeling.

Honesty rate: 8 – Raina has trouble hiding her emotions when something is troubling her. She looks distant and is more reserved than usual. When someone asks if something is wrong she seems a little nervous. She doesn't tell it right away, but thinks about it first for a moment.

Reading books

I´m reading the book: Ideas for a short animation and wow, it taught me a lot.
You should read this if you want to learn more about characters and stories. It does revolve around short animation but you can use it for every story.

I know I have to ask myself a lot of questions now about my characters and stories. To be honest I didn't have a set-up but the characters just came out of nowhere. At the character bio's I actually started thinking about them (and I was at page 10 at that point) and I know I should learn about them more so you know them too. If I ask myself those questions I will know exactly how they will respond in every situation.

I will think through my story a little more before I put it online.
Should have done this earlier.

Here are some questions that may be useful when you have finished a story.

1. Who is your character?
2. What is your character’s goal?
3. What is your inciting moment?
4. Does your confl ict rise?
5. What is your character’s reaction (not action) to the confl ict?
6. What does your character need to learn?
7. Does your ending relate to your beginning?
8. Is your audience entertained?

I don;t have that much time, but i'm doing my best to finish the scripts. At the moment I am at episode 5 o.o and I'm halfway the story. Lol, it will be a long project by the looks of it.

I just got into a new project group and have to go to school from 9 - 4 (home at 5)

And I have to begin learning 3d so I need to put a lot of time in that. But i'll try to work on my project on evening / nights, just to have a little break from 3d.

Story finished

Oh yeah, finally finished the story. It was really hard to write the last few pages. I never know how to end it beautifully >.> It may be changed though during revising. I wasn't fully in the mood writing the last few pages. This is probably because I just wanted to have the story finished and transitioning from idea to idea was never my strongest point.

Now its time to work on the scripts. The story will be different. Lots will be added, but also many things will be deleted as they won't translate well into an audio project. We'll see how it goes and we'll see how far we'll get with this project.

The biggest thing I'm worrying about now is the time I need for composing. I do need the lines before I can start composing as it has to match the story.
I have at least already decided what music I want to do. It will be piano music with some instruments added like strings.

STORY NEARLY FINISHED! I'm writing the last (two) pages =D It's going quite slowly, mainly because I'm not fully in the mood to write. If I read the parts back that I just wrote it just sounds so dull for the moment.
I'm sure I have the story finished tomorrow. Hopefully can change some parts and then focus on the scripts.

I can already tell you there will be a lot of drama xD especially Raina likes to cry, panic and scream. (well okay, she doesn't like it xD) Hope I didn't make her too whiney o.O at least she is okay at the ending and admits her mistakes. =P

thehurricanekid is still busy revising chapter 5. So the full story should be completed in about two weeks. Yay!

The character bio;s will be up here soon. The reason is that I have too much info to put in the casting thread. They rather want the personality limited to two lines while I have half the page. So it's better to have a link to it for if they want more information. ^-^

Not much has happened T.T I had a deadline for school and had a lot of stuff to finish for that. Yesterday I had voice acting to do. So from now on I can finally work on The Stranger.
Somewhere next week I have an appointment with a teacher so we can discuss the story and scripts again. Hopefully he can help me further and give me some good advice.

Cast thread just has to be posted in February. I'll work as hard as I can to finish the story this week and finish at least a few more scripts before I have that appointment with the teacher. Then the only thing I have to worry about are the auditions coming in and composing music. Oh and finishing two more character designs ^^

I know I said I would finish the story, but I have to write two different endings now as I can't decide which one will fit best. One is just too predictable and maybe unnecessary; the other is better but it depends on my writing.

Thehurricanekid is revising the last written pages so I'm waiting on that before I continue. Why? Because I want to make sure the previous pages sound good. xD He will also help me decide which ending will be chosen eventually.

So yeah there will be a delay =( I don't have that much writing left (except for working on the ending) The casting thread will probably be posted in february. Hopefully earlier. I do have some days off at the end of January.

No worries yet, not that much behind on schedule.

Due to redo's and request for extension mission 7 is much later than planned.
The estimated release is 14-1-2012. This because the lines will hopefully be in and I will be fully available for mixing then. I started school again after a two week break so having time to mix on a workday is difficult.

Status at the moment:
Lines in: 75%
Mixing: 60% - lines have to be added and certain sound effects (weapon and stabs). I also need to look at the volumes.

Finally wrote something on the story yesterday. I also know exactly now how to write the story.
I'm pretty close to the ending come to think of it. Some things will be different than I imagined before starting this blog. Don't want to make it too long as I already have three scripts before the real plot begins.
Will try to finish it this week. When I start casting I'll also ask if people want to read the story. If so, I'll post it on here soon.

edit: Another 5 pages done. Been writing for two hours now =D Now I'm really close to the end. Will finish it this week; I'm sure of it.

A small update

Haven't worked on my project for days. My mother's foster mom passed away so that took away my mood. Also I had a lot of lines to do and focussed on that first.
I hope I can finish more episodes next week, write on the story and also post the casting thread.
Mixing episode 2 is almost done, but I think mixing will be easier if I have the cast lines, that will also be more fun.

We'll see how things go. I will have a talk with a teacher about the music production, so hope I'll get some help in that.

Hope 2012 will be an awesome year for you.

Script update: Episode 2 is revised, only need to think of more lines for The stranger, Episode 3 is almost finished. Just have to edit a few things, get rid of narrating and such.

Mixing update; Started test mixing. I have episode 1 partly and now I am working on episode 2. It's still hard to use certain sound effects as they don't let you know what is going on x.x For example someone is hitting the camera, it just sounds like someone hits the mic XD

Music update: Working on some songs, I have two short songs finished and they will be used in the first episodes =D

Devil may cry update: Episode 5 and 6 will hopefully be released this week. Only still waiting on the Dante lines. Also waiting on two more character lines for episode 7. =D Still have to mix the fighting scenes between Dante and Vergil as well, but will do that when Dante's lines are in so it's easier. ^^

Scripts and sound effects

Finished the second script! Almost have chapter 1 scripted. The episodes will be around 10 minutes. The first two episodes won't be that exciting as it is an introduction. In episode 3 the real plot begins :P

I'm also looking for the right sound effects now. Been looking for camera sounds. I had to record my own as well and it doesn't sound that good, but that's okay. The camera sounds need to be subtle.

Also finished a sad song for the project. It's only 1 minute long so I have to extend it if needed. I'll make more music after i Have done a test recording, that will make things easier :P

Main theme song finished and script update

I have finished the main theme song. I've decided to keep it in a piano version as it will add sadness. I was planning to sing with it and add more instruments, but my singing will not really fit in the project, so I will just leave it instrumental. You will hear more songs in the project (I still have to make them) and they will have a small part of this song in it.

I was bored so I started making the casting thread. I have everything ready and can almost post it on VAA like this. Only the audition lines are missing as the story is not done yet and maybe there will be better lines in the future chapters. I will post it in early january as I will have the story done then (hopefully) and most scripts written.

Then it will be open for at least a month. It depends on how many auditions I get. I hope I get a decent amount and that I don't have to bump up the thread desperately, lol.

I am working on the script for episode 1 now and I already have 6 pages filled! That means it's 6 minutes already XD I have only introduced the characters at this point and explained their goal.
Didn't know it would turn out to be a few hour audio play. I really judged this wrong before I started this.
If I keep up this pace this means I can have more episodes done with Christmas Break.

I opened celtx yesterday and have two pages filled already while not much happened XD Didn´t know writing scripts would take that much time and would turn out that long. When it´s Christmas break I´ll record everything I have and will edit it this way. Then I can finally send it to thehurricanekid.
At the moment I´ll also work on it at school as I have finished most of my tasks and still have to be at school from 9-4:30 x.x

Wish me luck! Hopefully I have a few episodes done at the end of the year and can start casting :D

You'll also see more designs appear soon. Cathy is next and then I'll draw the characters that have a minor part. Like the friends from Ryan who appear at the beginning and maybe half way the story. These will not be edited in photoshop, but this way the auditioners at least know how they look like.

With music production things don't go that fast. I play soundtracks whenever I can so I can listen to how they build up the songs. But they are all so different. Choosing the right instruments is hard too.
A program crashing on you doesn;t help as well.
I do have a melody in mind for the main theme. It will be a sad one. I'm trying to write lyrics for it and will eventually record my voice for that song.
I'm planning to have the melody of the main theme return at certain parts in the audio play.

I still need to take a look at other audio plays so I know how others handle the music and sound effects.

Last episode has been uploaded in september. The next three will be uploaded around januari 2nd. Reason is because of the Lady recast that happened in october / november. And now another voice actor had to leave the project. Luckily the understudy responded right away so no more recast thread and worrying about auditions for a suitable Dante!
I'm excited to work on it again as I now have a motivated cast. This way I will get my motivation back as well. :D

I don't really have the time to write scripts or the story at the moment. I am thinking about it most of the time, but am not in the mood to write it down for some reason.
I've decided to write the scripts at the same time I am doing a test recording, so I know what misses and can edit the script that way.
However, I have school from monday till friday and it's a long day. Mostly when I get home I am not in the mood to do some recording work or writing as I have been staring at the laptop for so long at school.
On weekends I have lines and songs to record and mostly am too busy with gaming xD

BUT Christmas break is in two weeks! So I hope to finish some scripts and write more on the story then. :D Or even finish it.

In the meantime I will be working on the character designs. I'll draw two characters today that have a fairly important role in the story. And I am trying to compose some songs as practice.

Yup, started composing while I SHOULD BE WRITING! I´m looking forward to Christmas break so I have two weeks to write the story, maybe even finish it and start on the scripts.Hopefully I have most character designs done then as well.
A teacher is reading the story so far, so I think I will have a talk with him soon and hopefully get some advice on it?.

It will take a while before I´ll make music for my project. Heck, never really made a song before, except for a loop in fruity loops that was 1 minute and really annoying xD

But I found a guy on youtube who made epic music with only software, he inspired me and got me so excited for composing. Here´s an example:

I found the sets he was using and can´t wait to start it, but first I´ll need a keyboard so that makes composing easier ^^ My dad approves luckily! He even turns the attic into a studio for me. For voice acting and now also composing. Wooo!

So, I wanted to let you know that I have started working on Ryan's design. It's half way done.

Also I had a talk with a teacher and he gave me some helpful tips on script writing, so before I'll continue with that I'll listen to other audio projects and see how they handled it. Then I can completely focus on the scripts and do it better than I did before xD I at least know that I shouldn't have a narrator at the beginning of an audio story. It takes away the excitement and suspense.

thehurricanekid revised parts of chapter 3 and 4 and gave me some tips on writing. I was planning to write a lot on the story again within a week, but the problem is. I'm not in the mood. x.x On weekends it's my moment to write things down, but what I've thought of, doesn't look that good on paper.
Aaah, this frustrates me so much! My goal is to finish the story in december, so I can set up auditions in januari, but with this pace I won;t succeed ^^;;

Also started on writing the script for the first episode, but it's harder than expected (especially when you're not in the mood) xD Not sure how much to add in a script. Luckily I have a talk with a teacher who does storytelling on tuesday. So I can ask him some questions and hopefully he approves this story so I can score some points for school :D

Hopefully I can get some things done this week. If not writing, then finishing designs. =3

Alright, so I finally got some inspiration and just wrote a lot on the story <3 I kinda know how the story goes but writing towards that moment is quite difficult. I hope I can keep up this pace so I can be halfway the story somewhere next week (yup I have a list I'm working with, with what I want to include in the story)

I'm also working on the designs, thanks to the movie into the wild I know how Ryan looks like. (You should totally watch that movie, it's really touching) I just finished his face and now have to scan it and continue with photoshop.
It's simple but it's helpful for photoshop.

Also I got 4 lady auditions, yaay! No need to scout as I had wonderful auditions. It's really hard to choose already xD

I have decided how to write the story. I know what will happen from the part I am now until the end. =D
Now I only need some inspiration and hurry it up. I wrote one page in a few days so I need to find more time to write so we can start scripting soon.

In the story Raina will not narrate, but only in the audio project. This is gonna be challenging to still tell the story like it is now, but then in audio.

I also know how Ryan will look like and Raina;s friend - Lisa. I'll start designing them this week.

Still no Lady auditions =( Don't think one will come. Unless you read this now and think: "hey, wait Christine! I wanna audition!" XD There is still a two week deadline though. I did have one person who send in her audition but not in the right file, didn't hear anything afterwards so I'm not counting that one.
I'm already thinking about people to scout for if I get none. I have one person in mind right now, maybe two.
If they can't then I will selfcast. I don't want to delay it any further so I will take over her part.
Didn't want to voice a main character when I started the project, but now I have no choice.

But still two weeks to go~! Hopefully I'll get at least one.

Script writing

We haven't started script writing yet, but I do know now how to translate the story to an audio project.
So far I know people won't understand the story if we translate it to sound effects and voices. We need more than that, so I have decided to let Raina narrate her story, so people will understand it more.
Also at the end of the story it is clear that she has written this as a story (and her voice was just telling parts of the story she wrote)

The end lines will look something like this:

"I've written a lot, haven't I. It is enough to publish it as a book Might not be a bad idea actually. Hmm, I've already thought of a name for if that happens : The stranger."

Hope I didn't confuse you, I have it clear in my head but can't really write it down xD

Ah, a learning moment. Thehurricanekid has revised the character bios and added some helpful questions so I can write even more about the characters. For example, Raina has a ring, but where is that ring coming from? how does it look? I didn't even think about that. xD and more questions are added about the character's personality and history. I thought I had already written a lot in it xD But I should be explaining more how the character has become like he is now and not with just one word. Will keep that in mind.

Phew! Finished the character bios. I wrote down all the important things about them. From how they look, to personality, to history.
I have five important characters now. Raina, the main character, Ryan her brother, Deon the stranger, Lisa Raina's best friend and Cathy: Raina and Ryan's mother.

There will be more characters later.

I'll post all character bios here when the audio project is almost finished. Don't want to give away too much on some characters, some things will be revealed in the story. ^^
Yes I'm sorry, you have to wait long before I release info on the story ^^;; I can only show you designs now. In januari I hope to have everything finished and start casting!

Finally, I brought myself to drawing characters xD
I've first looked on the Internet to see what kind of eyes and mouth I wanted to use. I added those together in photoshop and drew that on paper.

Now I have this.

I only have the face, I didn't draw the hair on purpose because I suck at it on paper. I want to finish it in photoshop.

I was planning on releasing mission 5 and 6 at the same time, but that won't happen.
While mission 5 will be out hopefully this week (still need lines from people actually, so it depends), mission 6 will take more than 2 weeks. The reason is that one voice actor quit the project due to personal reasons. So now I have contacted the understudy and hopefully she will respond soon. If not or she declines I have to recast Lady and post another audition thread on VAA again.
Hope it won't go that far! Then it will be delayed another month x.x

I stood in the shower and I thought of a melody that I can maybe use for the theme song from my original project. Also thought of some lyrics, but forgot the half already >.<. I do remember one part and that will also be the title of the song: can't see the real me.
The shower is really a good place to come up with stuff. xD

Also I have already received lines from two people for the devil may cry fandub. That's now mixed in. The deadline is till the 18th (I extended it because school drove me crazy for a moment and I didn't have time at all)
Mission 5 and 6 will be released at the same time as there were different voice actors in the missions. If all goes well and no one has to do redo's or send in the lines too late, then both missions will come out on thursday the 20th.
Glad we've made it this far already. =D And I'll definetely won't stop. I really want to see mission 20 uploaded on my Youtube channel!
I've also decided (a long time ago actually) to include the last Vergil battle as that is the most important battle in the game and I thought it would make a nice ending. I've already had permission from CaT to use her gameplay video, so that's cool :D

The to do list

Alright, here is my to do list so you know what I have to do before this project will be finished.
I don't have that much time too bad, but I'll work on it on weekends and vacation and if I can when I get home from school.

So what I have to do for this project is:

1. Finishing the story
2. Writing scrips
3. Character design / making a design for the project (like a cover from a book)
4. Recording everything from the script myself and add sfx so I know how it will sound.
5. Making music.
6. Casting voice actors.
7. Mixing everything
8. Maybe turning this project in a visual one by drawing pictures.

And that's it. It will take a while, but we'll get there! Hopefully it's done before my second school year ends.
If everything goes well, I can probably score at least 18 points for this. :D

Story progress

I've finally decided on an ending for the story.

While it is a horror story it won´t have a disturbing ending. I always have the tendency to write a bad ending, that everyone will die, or at least a lot of characters xD Not saying no one will die though =P
I know I'm still being vague about it, but don't want to tell about it too much before it is finished.

Tomorrow I´ll share the story I have so far with thehurricanekid and he will help me change some parts and make it even better. Can't wait to finish it! I rarely finish stories and when I do it's always rushed.

Hey guys!

So, this is my first post. It all starts now.
Let me explain what is going on.

I´m studying communication and multimedia design. We have to score 60 points a year which is quite hard to do. Now I've been thinking about starting my own project for a while.
I love writing stories and it would be awesome to make one come alive.
At the moment I'm busy with a horror story which is called: The stranger(now 10 pages) and that one will be turned into an audio project.
I've talked to my mentor about it and I can use this project for points as well.
Everything will start this friday. As I have vacation for a week and can work on it fulltime.

I already have help from an awesome script writer - thehurricanekid- who will help me bring this project come alive. So that's good news.
