Focusing on composing

The Stranger is going nowhere as people don´t respond.
So I'm focusing on music now. As I have a hard time starting composing, but when I do start I spend hours on it I have decided to work on it every day for at least an hour.
I need to do so many songs, but thinking about it my mind goes blank, that's why I will compose music I want to do too.

The list for now is:

Nayru's song - The Legend of Zelda Oracle of ages (nearly done)
Din's dance - The Legend of Zelda Oracle of seasons
Main theme - Game of Thrones
Rains of Castimere (?) - Game of Thrones
Some final fantasy song.
Uncharted song.

next to that I have to make a menu song for a classmate, cover a few band songs (Van Halen o.o) and create a lot of ambient songs.

Yay! Managed to mix

Managed to mix episode 3! It took a while as sony vegas crashed so many times, but luckily it gave me time to render everything.. without mistakes! So I could finish the last part and didn't have to redo much either (a really small part)
Now composing is left to do, but due to school (composing and recording) I can't focus much on that  until fall break starts. So I will finish the project in fall break for sure!

Stupid East west packs!

I'm fuming. I thought I would get these packs  2 weeks ago. Now I received an email from the company I ordered it from saying it arrives in 2 weeks... *fall*
I'm not happy, not happy at all. Who says those packs will arrive in 2 weeks. I bet it will be delayed again.
This means episode 3 will be delayed with at least 3 WEEKS! I'm so sorry guys, I don't like it either.

My plans of working on my portfolio in my vacation or helping someone out with composing have to be shoved aside as well. When the packs arrive my vacation is practically over ^^;;

Composing

Finally had some inspiration today and started composing on a song called: Painful memories.

This is what I have so far. It's not much yet.

Deadline tomorrow and composing update

The deadline is tomorrow! At least for the male parts as I have most auditions for them.
Raina will have an extra week and Lisa, Cathy and Melinda an extra month. At least they will be cast around the time episode 2 will come out. So they can start recording for the next episode early.

So if you still want to audition for an evil guy, a protective brother or some minors that show up every now and then. Then now's still the chance. =D

At the moment I'm figuring out what kind of music I want and when it starts to play.
I think most pieces will be background tones with a melody every now and then. I
nstruments that will be used are the piano,  the violin,  perhaps the flute and a voice. It's simple, but still can be used for different kinds of moods.

I will try to compose some things today and tomorrow so I still have enough time to change it.

Script update: Episode 2 is revised, only need to think of more lines for The stranger, Episode 3 is almost finished. Just have to edit a few things, get rid of narrating and such.

Mixing update; Started test mixing. I have episode 1 partly and now I am working on episode 2. It's still hard to use certain sound effects as they don't let you know what is going on x.x For example someone is hitting the camera, it just sounds like someone hits the mic XD

Music update: Working on some songs, I have two short songs finished and they will be used in the first episodes =D

Devil may cry update: Episode 5 and 6 will hopefully be released this week. Only still waiting on the Dante lines. Also waiting on two more character lines for episode 7. =D Still have to mix the fighting scenes between Dante and Vergil as well, but will do that when Dante's lines are in so it's easier. ^^

Scripts and sound effects

Finished the second script! Almost have chapter 1 scripted. The episodes will be around 10 minutes. The first two episodes won't be that exciting as it is an introduction. In episode 3 the real plot begins :P

I'm also looking for the right sound effects now. Been looking for camera sounds. I had to record my own as well and it doesn't sound that good, but that's okay. The camera sounds need to be subtle.

Also finished a sad song for the project. It's only 1 minute long so I have to extend it if needed. I'll make more music after i Have done a test recording, that will make things easier :P

Main theme song finished and script update

I have finished the main theme song. I've decided to keep it in a piano version as it will add sadness. I was planning to sing with it and add more instruments, but my singing will not really fit in the project, so I will just leave it instrumental. You will hear more songs in the project (I still have to make them) and they will have a small part of this song in it.

Also I'm writing on the scripts. I havet he second script almost finished. I will also record all the lines at night and will add the sound effects to see how it sounds. Plus making songs for it when needed. =)

Main theme song

As I have nothing to do at school I started working on the main theme song. I failed at first but now the timing seems decent enough XD I have the part up until the chorus.

Did start script writing after all, design and music

I opened celtx yesterday and have two pages filled already while not much happened XD Didn´t know writing scripts would take that much time and would turn out that long. When it´s Christmas break I´ll record everything I have and will edit it this way. Then I can finally send it to thehurricanekid.
At the moment I´ll also work on it at school as I have finished most of my tasks and still have to be at school from 9-4:30 x.x

Wish me luck! Hopefully I have a few episodes done at the end of the year and can start casting :D

You'll also see more designs appear soon. Cathy is next and then I'll draw the characters that have a minor part. Like the friends from Ryan who appear at the beginning and maybe half way the story. These will not be edited in photoshop, but this way the auditioners at least know how they look like.

With music production things don't go that fast. I play soundtracks whenever I can so I can listen to how they build up the songs. But they are all so different. Choosing the right instruments is hard too.
A program crashing on you doesn;t help as well.
I do have a melody in mind for the main theme. It will be a sad one. I'm trying to write lyrics for it and will eventually record my voice for that song.
I'm planning to have the melody of the main theme return at certain parts in the audio play.

I still need to take a look at other audio plays so I know how others handle the music and sound effects.

Started composing

Yup, started composing while I SHOULD BE WRITING! I´m looking forward to Christmas break so I have two weeks to write the story, maybe even finish it and start on the scripts.Hopefully I have most character designs done then as well.
A teacher is reading the story so far, so I think I will have a talk with him soon and hopefully get some advice on it?.

I have no experience in music and it´s a dream to create music like Hans Zimmer, steve Jablonsky, Two steps from hell. They are my inspiration and I hope I can make something like their music one day.

So excited for composing!

It will take a while before I´ll make music for my project. Heck, never really made a song before, except for a loop in fruity loops that was 1 minute and really annoying xD

But I found a guy on youtube who made epic music with only software, he inspired me and got me so excited for composing. Here´s an example:

I found the sets he was using and can´t wait to start it, but first I´ll need a keyboard so that makes composing easier ^^ My dad approves luckily! He even turns the attic into a studio for me. For voice acting and now also composing. Wooo! 

Thought of a song! And progress of the devil may cry fandub

I stood in the shower and I thought of a melody that I can maybe use for the theme song from my original project. Also thought of some lyrics, but forgot the half already >.<. I do remember one part and that will also be the title of the song: can't see the real me.
The shower is really a good place to come up with stuff. xD

Also I have already received lines from two people for the devil may cry fandub. That's now mixed in. The deadline is till the 18th (I extended it because school drove me crazy for a moment and I didn't have time at all)
Mission 5 and 6 will be released at the same time as there were different voice actors in the missions. If all goes well and no one has to do redo's or send in the lines too late, then both missions will come out on thursday the 20th.
Glad we've made it this far already. =D And I'll  definetely won't stop. I really want to see mission 20 uploaded on my Youtube channel!
I've also decided (a long time ago actually) to include the last Vergil battle as that is the most important battle in the game and I thought it would make a nice ending. I've already had permission from CaT to use her gameplay video, so that's cool :D
