Scripts and sound effects

Finished the second script! Almost have chapter 1 scripted. The episodes will be around 10 minutes. The first two episodes won't be that exciting as it is an introduction. In episode 3 the real plot begins :P

I'm also looking for the right sound effects now. Been looking for camera sounds. I had to record my own as well and it doesn't sound that good, but that's okay. The camera sounds need to be subtle.

Also finished a sad song for the project. It's only 1 minute long so I have to extend it if needed. I'll make more music after i Have done a test recording, that will make things easier :P

Main theme song finished and script update

I have finished the main theme song. I've decided to keep it in a piano version as it will add sadness. I was planning to sing with it and add more instruments, but my singing will not really fit in the project, so I will just leave it instrumental. You will hear more songs in the project (I still have to make them) and they will have a small part of this song in it.

Also I'm writing on the scripts. I havet he second script almost finished. I will also record all the lines at night and will add the sound effects to see how it sounds. Plus making songs for it when needed. =)

Main theme song

As I have nothing to do at school I started working on the main theme song. I failed at first but now the timing seems decent enough XD I have the part up until the chorus.

Made the casting thread

I was bored so I started making the casting thread. I have everything ready and can almost post it on VAA like this. Only the audition lines are missing as the story is not done yet and maybe there will be better lines in the future chapters. I will post it in early january as I will have the story done then (hopefully) and most scripts written. 

Then it will be open for at least a month. It depends on how many auditions I get. I hope I get a decent amount and that I don't have to bump up the thread desperately, lol. 

Script writing goes faster, starting casting soon?

I am working on the script for episode 1 now and I already have 6 pages filled! That means it's 6 minutes already XD I have only introduced the characters at this point and explained their goal.
Didn't know it would turn out to be a few hour audio play. I really judged this wrong before I started this.
If I keep up this pace this means I can have more episodes done with Christmas Break.
Then I can start casting in january! Yaay! I already have most designs ready for the main characters so they will at least be posted.

So excited for this =D

Did start script writing after all, design and music

I opened celtx yesterday and have two pages filled already while not much happened XD Didn´t know writing scripts would take that much time and would turn out that long. When it´s Christmas break I´ll record everything I have and will edit it this way. Then I can finally send it to thehurricanekid.
At the moment I´ll also work on it at school as I have finished most of my tasks and still have to be at school from 9-4:30 x.x

Wish me luck! Hopefully I have a few episodes done at the end of the year and can start casting :D

You'll also see more designs appear soon. Cathy is next and then I'll draw the characters that have a minor part. Like the friends from Ryan who appear at the beginning and maybe half way the story. These will not be edited in photoshop, but this way the auditioners at least know how they look like.

With music production things don't go that fast. I play soundtracks whenever I can so I can listen to how they build up the songs. But they are all so different. Choosing the right instruments is hard too.
A program crashing on you doesn;t help as well.
I do have a melody in mind for the main theme. It will be a sad one. I'm trying to write lyrics for it and will eventually record my voice for that song.
I'm planning to have the melody of the main theme return at certain parts in the audio play.

I still need to take a look at other audio plays so I know how others handle the music and sound effects.

Woot, another one finished. Cathy is next. I have a lot of time since I finished most tasks from school, so I don't think they mind if I work on my own designs for a moment.

I hope I can write something on the story tomorrow night. If not, at least next week ^^

Devil may cry 3 fandub update

Last episode has been uploaded in september. The next three will be uploaded around januari 2nd. Reason is because of the Lady recast that happened in october / november. And now another voice actor had to leave the project. Luckily the understudy responded right away so no more recast thread and worrying about auditions for a suitable Dante!
I'm excited to work on it again as I now have a motivated cast. This way I will get my motivation back as well. :D

An update

I don't really have the time to write scripts or the story at the moment. I am thinking about it most of the time, but am not in the mood to write it down for some reason.
I've decided to write the scripts at the same time I am doing a test recording, so I know what misses and can edit the script that way.
However, I have school from monday till friday and it's a long day. Mostly when I get home I am not in the mood to do some recording work or writing as I have been staring at the laptop for so long at school.
On weekends I have lines and songs to record and mostly am too busy with gaming xD

BUT Christmas break is in two weeks! So I hope to finish some scripts and write more on the story then. :D Or even finish it.

In the meantime I will be working on the character designs. I'll draw two characters today that have a fairly important role in the story. And I am trying to compose some songs as practice.

Started composing

Yup, started composing while I SHOULD BE WRITING! I´m looking forward to Christmas break so I have two weeks to write the story, maybe even finish it and start on the scripts.Hopefully I have most character designs done then as well.
A teacher is reading the story so far, so I think I will have a talk with him soon and hopefully get some advice on it?.

I have no experience in music and it´s a dream to create music like Hans Zimmer, steve Jablonsky, Two steps from hell. They are my inspiration and I hope I can make something like their music one day.

This is the start! I have more than this though (a violin that needs some work) and got rid of two horrible notes at the beginning xD

So excited for composing!

It will take a while before I´ll make music for my project. Heck, never really made a song before, except for a loop in fruity loops that was 1 minute and really annoying xD

But I found a guy on youtube who made epic music with only software, he inspired me and got me so excited for composing. Here´s an example:

I found the sets he was using and can´t wait to start it, but first I´ll need a keyboard so that makes composing easier ^^ My dad approves luckily! He even turns the attic into a studio for me. For voice acting and now also composing. Wooo! 

Another update

So, I wanted to let you know that I have started working on Ryan's design. It's half way done.

Also I had a talk with a teacher and he gave me some helpful tips on script writing, so before I'll continue with that I'll listen to other audio projects and see how they handled it. Then I can completely focus on the scripts and do it better than I did before xD I at least know that I shouldn't have a narrator at the beginning of an audio story. It takes away the excitement and suspense.
